We are having tea in the kitchen with our host in Ulan Ude. She
had a guy visiting the night before. Now he sends her an sms, but
she does not answer. Pauline comments that it is "igra"
or "the game". A little later the guy calls.
Pauline says that she could never manage to be dating in Russia.
In the United States, where she knows the culture, it is hard enough,
because the rules of the game are complicated and indirect.
